01 - Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
02 - Using a serrated bread knife, slice the entire block of Hawaiian sweet rolls horizontally to create a top and bottom layer, keeping the rolls connected.
03 - Arrange the bottom half of the rolls on the prepared baking sheet. Distribute the sliced cheddar cheese evenly on top. Add sliced deli ham or turkey if desired.
04 - Place the top half of the rolls over the layered fillings to form sandwiches.
05 - Combine melted butter with mustard, honey, and garlic powder if using. Brush this mixture over the tops of the rolls.
06 - Transfer to the oven and bake for 10 to 15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the roll tops are golden brown.
07 - Allow sandwiches to cool for 2 minutes. Using a serrated knife, cut into individual portions and serve warm.
